FAQ

How can I apply to work at Preferred Employment & Living Supports?

People wishing to work at Preferred Employment & Living Supports can apply for employment here. Once the form is submitted, we will review it and contact the applicant.

Do you offer caregiver jobs where I would work one-on-one with someone at their home?

Yes, absolutely! We offer caregiver jobs as part of the Living Support Specialist responsibilities. They are available in both the Muskegon and Holland/Ottawa County areas. These are usually flexible, part-time positions. They can be ideal for seniors, moms that have kids in school and need flexible hours, or anyone desiring a fulfilling job that enhances the lives of our special clients.

How can PELS help provide services to me or my loved one?

Whether it’s in-home care, living supports, counseling or employment training and placement, PELS can provide you with a customized plan that will empower your life, even when the situation is the most dire. Contact us directly via phone or email at any time and we will be here 24/7 to assist you.

In which locations does PELS offer its services?

Preferred Employment & Living Supports has locations in both Muskegon and Ottawa County, serving the community of those areas.

How do you charge clients for the living support work that you do?

Much of the work we do is funded by the government or through insurance. For individuals using private pay, cost is dependent on the service requested. Feel free to call our office for details.

Do you provide lunch for clients that are there during the lunch hour?

Clients bring their own lunch and snacks. There are special occasions, perhaps once a month, when Preferred provides lunch for everyone. Both guardians and clients are notified ahead of time in these instances.

Are you open on holidays?

We are closed for the holidays and also on weekends so we can be with our own families. Occasionally, caregiver jobs or Employment Training Specialists may work on a weekend day to bring clients to a special event or to help guide them on the job.
